NekonyancerIn Scriptoria, players will strive to create the most perfect *illumination* - an ancient handwritten text embellished with gold and silver. To do this, players must first gather *inks* of various colors and suitable *sketches* for their scrolls, all while following the principles of temperance and charity. Nekonyancer[green]*Last Hour: Illumination*[/green]---"It is time for the copyists to use their inks and their inkwells to illuminate their pages. They use their fortitude to achieve elements of their scroll. Temperance prevents them from accumulating sketches and inks."2playerInk_31_92143487

NekonyancerIn this hour, players can place sketches from their lecterns or personal stocks onto their scrolls. Each sketch has a cost in *ink* and is worth *illumination points.* *Sister Neko4,* as the bearer of the quill, will go first.3tile_51

NekonyancerThe point is [red]*achievements.*[/red] Each one is worth 5 illumination points! There are five achievements in the game. The first player to complete a certain section of their scroll will claim the associated achievement.3tile_141

Nekonyancer[blue]*This one*[/blue] requires the four lettered spaces. [green]*This one*[/green] requires the three text spaces and the embellishment space. [red]*This one*[/red] requires all the border and corner tiles on the right half of our scroll. The one in the middle requires the entire scroll.5tile_144

NekonyancerWhenever you acquire an achievement, it permanently occupies a slot in your *stock,* which runs across the bottom of your scroll board. Nekonyancer...Unless someone uses a [blue]*Help Token.*[/blue] Each player starts with *3.* These tokens allow us to ̶s̶t̶e̶a̶l̶ humbly and irrefusably offer to complete our brothers and sisters' sketches for them.11helpToken_239

Nekonyancer[red]Unfortunately, the tutorial will crash if we progress past this point, so we'll have to rely on text from here.[/red] When you use a [blue]*token*[/blue] to take a sketch from the [green]*Scriptorium,*[/green] you are allowed to look through the stacks of tiles and take whichever one you want. NekonyancerWhen we ̶s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶ helped *Sister Neko4* with their sketch, we gave her our Help Token. If you take a sketch from the Scriptorium, the Token is [red]removed from the game[/red] instead. Any tokens you have left on your board at the end of the game are worth [green]2 points each.[/green]3helpToken_238

NekonyancerI'm sure you noticed the [red]*Pass*[/red] button at the top of the screen. When clicked, all the unused sketches on your lectern go into your stock. The lectern is then returned to... uh... wherever lecterns are returned.4button_Painting_Pass

NekonyancerIf you don't have room in your stock, unused sketches are moved to the Scriptorium. You are not allowed to keep more than *seven* sketches at once because, like any good monk/nun, you follow the *Principle of Temperance.* If you get an *achievement,* you'll be even more limited, since achievements permanently occupy stock spaces!5tile_93_bis

NekonyancerThe *Principle of Temperance* applies to inks too, not just sketches. We are not allowed to keep more than seven inks at the end of a round. [red]Any extra inks must be discarded.[/red]6playerInk_32_92143487

NekonyancerOnce everyone is finished with their illuminations, the day comes to an end. The [blue]*Quill*[/blue] (marking the first player) moves to the next player, and the next day begins.7playerQuill

Nekonyancer*Day 2* would proceed just like *Day 1* did! 1st hour: Take inks. 2nd hour: Choose lecterns for each other. Last hour: use inks to complete sketches. [blue]Such is the life of a monk or nun![/blue]8roundCounter_container
