I know the game confirms the station but I've still accidentally placed two stations so far without thinking too much what the text said, while trying to build routes.

I feel like the station hotspot should be a lot smaller, at least on desktop. Especially green route between Kharkov and Rostov is problematic, if you drag card there, it really want's to build Kharkov station instead.
