I think I should have received the option to place a galaxy after step #42 for the shape I made. See picture.

1. First, I made the lines with yellow.
2. Second, I drew the lines with green and got the galaxy which I marked with red. I expected that this galaxy could appear because of the shape Y I also marked with red.
3. After that I placed the lines with blue. Here I expected that I will get another galaxy for the second Y-shape marked with purple, which is totally independent from the previous Y-shape. -

No errors. The game didn’t give me the galaxy to be placed, it revealed the next tile.

I had two independent shapes, and I didn’t get the rewards for both of them.
I think the conflict comes from the situation that when I placed the lines with green I made two potential Y shapes (one normal Y and one upside down Y). In such cases I would expect that the game selects the shape which is more beneficial for the player (like we did in real life). Or if it is not possible to turn it into programming language, it should ask me which of the generated shapes I want to score.
In his case I knew it in advance that I want to validate my upside down Y-shape for sure, because I expected that I could finish another Y-shape later from the upper diagonal lines - which actually happened.
