I rejoined an async game to find that my pile of 4 purple cards had shuffled into a different order.

Yes but the game is ongoing. I played a purple bracelet card most recently and now it's on the bottom of the stack.

I was under the impression that you need to pay for lands with the cards at the bottom of the column :D
