案件沿革
As part of this, I think to squash an issue before it happens, players should not be allowed to select a round number where their played card does nothing for that round
This is part of the rules, so it wouldn't be a faithful representation to exclude it
It also helps with your other top issue of misclicking cards, if selecting a card was 2 stages (select card then select stage to declare) it allows players that chance to undo
At any rate "Players can always use the chat or other means of communication." is a big cop out, it's meaningless as it could be applied to any other aspect to essentially say this could be a text based RPG instead, and worse it's Racist 'cos you're saying if two people speak different languages you can't play together because you're not allowing them to just see the symbols (this is NOT a language dependent game)
If it makes the "game flow heavy" well than I think it has to be, otherwise the game is loosing one of its biggest feature.
How about this:
When selecting a card and clicking on the action itself (the blue bar) the action gets announced.
Clicking anywhere else on the card does not announce anything.
Of course, there needs to be some kind of highlight when hovering over the card.
Would be quite a stretch to implement, but oh well ...
It would make more sense if clicking the general card does nothing and instead you always have to click one of the round lines (& idk how complex this is, but disallowing clicking a round if it contains no actions)
It could alternatively be that first the players click the general card to select it, then the top bar shows the rounds in which there are actions to which the player then has to select one to declare
As per selecting Round, when implementing it should be easier to limit only the round that has an action to be selected.
I was thinking about this interaction flow
1. Select card
2. Pop-up option says declare Round 1 or Round 2 (Round 3 is blank so no prompt). Make selection.
3. Confirm you selection.
