I had the same impression. At game start (table 654087082), after placing my meeple, I was asked to choose an ingredient. I clicked on the tile where my meeple was placed in order to get the ingredient, which didn't work. Then I noticed it was already present in the right half of the playing area, just under my name. This was quite counterintuitive to me, but at least I could finally solve this.

In my first actual turn of the same table, I was told "You must place your meeple", but I did't know how to do so. All free tiles were blinking, but clicking on them didn't do anything. Also, I tried to drag and drop the meeple, which didn't work either. Since I did't know what else to do, I closed the game.

Please note that I used hotseat mode, which might have disturbed game play.

Sorry, I missed a rule (2 barista in a 2 player game), so please ignore the second half of my comment above.

Hello! As other players have noticed, you must choose an ingredient located in the upper left part of each player's area. In the meantime, we have also changed the icons to be more visible.
