I think it’s better to guide the player step by step by your instructions:
a) Start with: „Choose a card form your hand“
b) Then, when the player did: „Leave the card or select the card(s) to take“ and show the button „Take selected card(s)“ as INACTIVE and the button „ Leave the card“ as active.
c) Only activate the button „Take selected card(s)“, if the numbers match.
And please make sure the effect is the same, if the player uses the „Cancel“ button.• 你的瀏覽器是什麼？

Now the instruction says „You must take cards or leave a card“. Then if the player marks one or more cards they want to take, you give the text "You must play a card or pass" [boardgamearena.com/bug?id=156712] and show the button „Take the card“ as ACTIVE. But if the player clicks on it, (without choosing a card from their hand, which you didn’t ask for), you give an error message. I think this is not guiding the player well. Only show the button „Take the card“ as active, if everything is ok.
