I'd like to help figure this out. On which move number did it occur?

In order to diagnose what's happening, we need to know where to look in your game. You can find the move number by looking in the upper-left cornerwhere the game progression is indicated (try using landscape orientation on mobile devices). You can also find it from the replay link when you click on the game log. Even easier, just look at the replay after your game ends and the move numbers are listed.

Your screenshot shows the counter, but not the map, making it impossible to verify the issue.

Here is a screenshot which confirms my assertion that 4 annexation cubes is the correct number deployed:

Yup, everything looks good. The counter correctly indicates the total cubes currently deployed on the map.

The "column display" represents remaining cubes. It is not intended to indicate how many are deployed on the board.
