案件沿革
"Upgrade: Legendary pieces cannot be upgraded. To upgrade a common piece, flip
it over. To upgrade a heroic piece, remove it and replace it with a legendary piece.
If none is available, the heroic piece cannot be upgraded."
To clarify further, Angel of Death cannot leap onto a legendary (prior to summoning of Angel of Death) piece, ever. Therefore the given reasoning does not apply.
- if the AoD could not kill a piece that was already legendary, the text would probably not specify "You may choose any 1 piece".
- The text specifically says that you choose the piece, then upgrade it and finally leap. If the piece was legendary, or heroic without legendary pieces left, that just falls under the case of "If an effect cannot be performed fully, do the parts that can be done" : you skip the upgrading effect.

So I'm inclined to follow Fivec on this one, it's a bit tedious to correct but I'll do it eventually.
In the meantime, I may ask for Vlaada's confirmation, since I have a couple other questions to ask him anyway.
Anyway, if the Angel of Death cannot kill a legendary piece, it's an incredibly weak legendary card in the High Form of the game.
