Also, the name of the card taken back should be kept secret (shouldn't be displayed in the notification bar on the right, maybe instead something like: "John returned CARD to his hand (green 8 ability)"

Not a bug - it was the last card in his hand at the end of the round. It was reclaimed and then immediately discarded.

I selected a card to discard on an 8 but there was no way to confirm it. tried clicking on different things but nothing worked. basically meant cancelling the game unless I am missing something.
