It is possible, by moving the camera, to see the height of piles, but it would be helpful to have this information more quickly available for instance by leaving the mouse for a second over a specific pile.

I think a popup might be a bit intrusive. It would be a source of distraction rather than helpful, for me at least. If this is implemented as a popup, I would really appreciate to have a "no popup" option.
