After clicking a travel spot, if you leave the mouse pointer over that spot, your caracter pop-up will apear as the action resolves, the same way it apears whrn you hoover the pointer over your color gem.

You're not to move the mouse pointer at all. I use a laptop with the touch pad so the mouse does not move at all when I press the LMB. Maybe the mouse moves a little.
