Page 7, you got the rule about "moving away", then page 15 you have the definition of Fear, where it says you have to Dash away, Dash being a movement. So Fear has to follow the "moving away" rule.

So basicaly in your exemple "the Maximum Dash value" has only 1 possiblity. Every other case make you dash only 1 hex.

In the new rules:
§ Towards and Away (p.7)
"When an effect instructs a Champion to moveawayfrom a game element, each step should increase the distance between the Champion and the game ele-ment. If this is not possible,the Champion will not move."
§ FEAR X (p.15)
"If an Action or Reaction applies Fear, the Champion who suffered the Fear effect must Dash Xin a direction of their choice, as long as it is away from the source of the Fear. If multiple choices are available, the Champion must choose the one that takes them the furthest away from the source of the Fear, moving the maximum Dash value they possibly can."
@Tooooomm : when it comes to rules, Thagor is usually 99.99% accurate ;)
alright, so where should Akhet have dashed 2 in this exemple ? Because rule says it cannot dash only 1.
Because a second hex here won't increase the distance between Alistair & Akhet, so Akhet can't "move away" any further (1 to 2, then ? 2 to... 2 ?).
First hex needs to increase distance (move away rule) then an another hex can't "move away" since the distance stays 2 in all the ways + (I think) you can't break a dash 2 in dash 1/dash1.
Dash X rules p.15
"A Dash is a straight-line movement of up to X spaces where the dashing Champion must stay in the same hex row of the hex grid."
=> "up to X spaces" is important there.
Either the priority is to Dash 2 as in "moving the maximum Dash value they possibly can", or the priority is "move away" rule.
I have to admit that if you compare this mechanic to the fear in real life, if you want to get away from something, you dont move just next to it :D
