summoning gauge was at 15 and I'd played 15 cards with the vampiric crown on the board, but I still should have been able to sacrifice shield of zira... move 382 or so (maybe one or two in either direction)
There is no evidence that you clicked on "Sacrifice Shield of Zira" rather than on your Cauldron in hand.
You gained 5 prestige points with Shield of Zira at the end of the game, so you would lose anyway if you had sacrified the Shield of Zira.
I played Vampiric Crown while having no cards in hand. Shield of Zira was in play. The game would not allow me to sacrifice Shield of Zira.
Your statement "The game would not allow me to sacrifice Shield of Zira." therefore appears unfounded.

Similar error: Lunyarz played the Vampire Crown and selected the Potion of Life (in his hand) to win 4 energy but it did not work (the Potion of Life was discarded but he did not win anything).

This is the correct behavior. Zira can only be used "instead of...one of your power cards." If you don't have any power cards in hand to discard, then Zira cannot be sacrificed instead.
Not sure where you're getting the 4 energy from. Potion of Life has a prestige point value of 0. So using it with Vampiric Crown gets you 0 energy. Also, the table number you referenced doesn't show anyone using Vampiric Crown.
Also also, this isn't even a similar issue, the original report here has to do with Shield of Zira's unique behavior (i.e. the "Sacrifice Shield of Zira" button).
It is not the sacrifice of the Shield of Zira that makes it possible to obtain 10 crystals, but the triggering of its effect, which includes the sacrifice of the card.
Since you don’t seem to have understood the use of this Power card, you probably didn’t encounter any bugs.

This should not prevent you from triggering the Shield of Zira effect, even if your only Power card in hand had negative prestige points.
If you had several cards in hand, it is possible that the implementation would have chosen the card with the most prestige points for the Vampiric Crown effect. Or not.
Anyway, the bug is confirmed for the game situation you are reporting.
