Or maybe for the game of the week, all you need is one finished game for reward X, or one 'won' game for reward Y?
At the same time, whilst I loe the idea of doing this to encourage activity, I wonder if it'd do enough to encourage folk to play with strangers.
Maybe there's also a tiny reward for playing the 'game of the [period]'' with someone you've not played with in the last X days?
And maybe if you get all 3 rewards (a game, a win, a play against a stranger), you get some sort of icon.
Kongregate does a great job of this with their 'games of the week' but given how slow boardgames can be, I still think it should maybe be 3 or 4 'games of the month'.
(gift points are the contribution points where you can spend the 100 to get premium)
1 gift point for winning the game of the day. (maximum of 1 a day)
1 gift point for winning the game of the week. (maximum of 1 a day)

(this will generate 90 gift points per 30-day-month if a player collects every single one)
same game for everyone
randomly selected games would be easiest but moderator picking them is fine too
an additional thing to spend gift points on will be needed, i suggest for 100 points to get an animated star next to your name that expires after 1 month.
Additionally I would love to have a "random game" button or suggestion somewhere on the web page.
