www.marksteeregames.com/MSG_game_index.html
My first Oust rule sheet featured a square board. Soon after, I released another rule sheet showing Oust on a hexagonal board. To distinguish between the two, game site proprietors called them Square Oust and Hex Oust. They're both essentially the same game, just played on different tesselations. There are undoubtedly other tesselations Oust could be played on as well. Oust played on a hexagonal board was considered by most people (including me) to be a better game.
Oust was eventually played a lot on another game site that only had the hexagonal version (where it's called Hex Oust). I just call the game Oust, regardless of what type of board it's being played on. Many of my games can be played on either board, and I don't give special names to them for what board is being used. This naming convention was an invention of programmers. But now I'm the programmer. Oust will probably never be programmed for a square board at BGA, so to make life easier, let's just call it Oust here.
And yes, in German it's called "Raus!" (and sometimes Hex-Raus! for the hexagonal version), complete with an exclamation point. Actually, I like the German name more than the American name. Raus! :D
