@MongolianMark a warning about it, gamedatas is loaded initially during setup when the JS module is loaded, but it's recommended that you never use it after that point.
If you use gamedatas at later points, it can break hotseat (even though this feature is rarely used, it's part of the release checklist)
In fact there were two references to gamedatas in the code outside of setup - both totally unnecessary. So I simply deleted them. I barely know what hotseat is, so I will mark the bug as fixed for the time being. Let me know if this issue crops up again. Thanks.
