This is still happening and it really ruines the game experience, especially in ranked games and tournaments.
After a car "emergency brakes", it can cut all corners and still finish lap and win the race.

I deliberately tried to cut first corner - almost nothing happened, I skipped even emergency brake and game moves on like nothing. This is weird.
Also I haven't found official rule on what to do, if you go inside the corner (cut/skip it completely). Should you emergency brake, 45deg turn and start from 1st gear? Maybe even skip 1 turn? And go correctly around the track?
