This occurred twice in a row for me while trying to initiate Santorini. I verified that it wasn't a connection/network issue on my end, and I was able to successfully initiate a different game on BGA. Visit boardgamearena.com/gametables?game=1196&all and try to watch any game of Santorini currently in progress. Does this work?
If you have any browser extensions like ad blockers try temporarily disabling those and see if it fixes the problem.
